Abstract

Visceral leishmaniasis is an entity that is frequently associated with human immunodeficiency virus infection (HIV). We report the case of a 46 years old male HIV positive in which incidentally Leishmania sp. was histologically observed in the perianal warts removed from the patient. This finding let do the diagnosis and treatment of unsuspected visceral leishmaniasis. This unusual association is registered for the first time.
